Song's Kung Fu in Jefferson Park, Chicago?
This school is near the Jefferson Park train station in NW Chicago. They teach northern mantis, tai chi, and other Chinese styles. Anyone have first-hand knwoledge of this kwoon?
Checked out their web site http://www.songskungfu.com and a few questions came up.
1. Song is not a Chinese name ( not that this matter a great deal. It is not by law that one has to have a Chinese name to listed in their kung fu school name. But just a thought).
2. No chief instructor's name were listed. Actually, no instructor's name were listed anywhere in the web site period.
3. No History, Lineage, Background of the school/system or the instructors were posted
4. In the "above us" page, it listed "all of the different forms and techniques are drawn from the original styles of kung fu taught in China and Korea".
The key words are "drawn from the original". That means they are NOT the original techniques and forms.
Everyone knows kung fu is a name for Chinese martial art. What's that got to do with Korea???
5. Nothing listed in "Schedule", "Contact Us", and "Link" under the Info tap.
6. No address or direction of the school in the web site.
Found many red flags of "one stop shopping McDojo" within 3 minutes in this website.
Either this is a badly designed web site or a McDojo.
