Is it normal for the cast on my foot to be soft from the bottom?

i took a shower and i put the plastic protector over my cast, however i noticed that it was a little soft from the bottom. Maybe not from the water but from steam or the heat on the skin? is this normal??

stay off foot, let cast re-harden. If it isn't bad you will be fine, check the protector for leaks, if there are none water could have seeped through the top. Try to keep it out of the casted leg from being under the water as much as possible. If it gets too wet get the cast redone, so you heal properly. And to answer your actual question, it can happen yes but try these ideas and maybe it won't happen in the future.
