Fu Chi Yang
Should I learn the Yang or Chen style Tai Chi next?
Please don't be biased...
Basically I've learned qi gong, kung fu, and shuai jiao so far, as well as the Yang 24 short form and Chen 56 competition form. Now have the choice of learning either the Yang 108 long form or Chen Lao Jia Yi Lu.
I've actually tried learning the first and a little bit of the second segment of the Yang long form... and I don't see much difference between it and the short form. Is it worth it to keep learning it?
I'm no Tai Chi expert, but I believe it's not so much a question of which style is better as which is more suited for you. How old are you and how long have you trained in these arts? The reason I'm asking is because you list so many arts that you have learned, I wonder if you've actually mastered one. Learning forms and Mastering the art are two different things and the real Tai Chi forms like Yang and Chen takes a life time to master. You need to pick which style you feel you are more comfortable with and would like to master. Then it's all just a matter of good instruction and dedicated training.
