Can you recommend a good, yet moderately priced, kitchen knife or knife set?
I wants something that is of high quality but won't break the budget.
Look at my recommendation box below. I recommended a few good quality knife sets, and one really expensive set! As I said in my recommendation note, my advice would be to go to a store that sells quality knives, handle several different brands and grades of knives, then decide for yourself which is just right for YOU! (remember, what feels good in MY hand may feel awkward in YOURS... and vice versa!) Then proceed to buying your knives one or two at a time, or whatever you can afford. I would buy a large Chef's knife and the wooden block to start, then next purchase maybe a smaller Chef and a sharpening steel.... you get the idea. Then, before too long, you have a complete set of super high quality knives that are specifically suited to YOU!
Unfortunately, if you are like me, you don't know when to stop buying!
