why do i hate brock lesnar? has he fought anyone the same weight as him?
I don't know why, but I can't stand him. Maybe its his trash talk with such little experience in the game. Or maybe its because everyone's like "oh wow he really is good" after he beat Mir and Coulture, but he outweighed them by a lot. I hate the fact that he's so new yet dominates because of his massive size/muscle. He'll never win by Oma-plata or head kick.
What are your reasons for liking/disliking brock lesnar?
Things I llike: He is a physical force of nature, and maximizes that. He seems eager to learn, and is quickly filling holes in his game. He has brought a lot of excitement back to a division that was lacking shine and luster.
Dislike: He was given, and didn't earn his path to the title. I wish he'd show more MMA skills, instead of freakish physicality. He needs to lose the idiot WWE posturing.
As far as him being so much bigger - the heavyweight division is not unlimited in weight, so in order to be that much bigger, he also has to cut the weight to make it under the limit. There are some other very big, very athletic heavyweights looming who could minimize the physicality advantage he has. That's why it's so disappointing that his fight with Carwin is off until at least March.
FYI - Lesnar did not fight Greco-Roman in college. There is no Greco-Roman wrestling in high school, or in college. Actually, both are even different from freestyle wrestling that is done internationally, but they don't come anywhere close to Greco-Roman. Greco-Roman seems to translate very well to MMA because of it's exclusive emphasis on cliching and upper-body throws. That's why Couture, and accomplished Greco-Roman practitioner was able to do so well with Lesnar in the clinches, despite giving away 60+ pounds in walking-around weight. Lesnar was the NCAA HW champ. He was never any kind of champ in G-R.
